If certain regulatory bodies get their way, the roughly 316 million smokers in China will no longer be allowed to light up around sports stadiums, hospitals, and tourist sites, and they’ll be barred from smoking cigarettes anywhere indoors where there are other people present.

China’s National Health and Family Planning Commission in conjunction with a senior government health official came up with the idea, which aims to eventually stamp out all tobacco use in China, one public place at a time. At the recent Global Conference on Health Promotion in Shanghai, the commission’s publicity head, Mao Qun’an, announced the agenda with succinct clarity when he stated that “smoking harms health has become a global consensus.”

In other words, since most government bodies around the world are now in agreement that smoking cigarettes isn’t good for one’s lungs and could cause cancer, the next step is to basically prohibit people from using it by gradually eliminating not only access to tobacco through heavy taxes and excessive regulations, but also all avenues with which to use it, including in the outdoor air.

According to reports, draft legislation would make it illegal to smoke at all indoor public venues, including in public transit vehicles and even at workplaces. Outdoor areas where smoking will be prohibited include around hospitals, at primary schools and kindergartens, near tourist sites, and in close proximity to sports stadiums. Each person who violates the provisions will be subject to a $72 fine, while businesses in violation face fines as high as $4,320.

Is smoking a fundamental human right?

The Chinese government has tried in the past to implement anti-smoking legislation such as this, including back in 2011 with the passage of a similar bill that was never effectively enforced. With this latest bill, though, officials hope to foster better enforcement and bring smoking to a bare minimum by essentially encouraging more people to quit through disincentives in the public interest.

Some critics say that China’s failure to adopt World Health Organization (WHO) packaging guidelines that are designed to scare people into not smoking has helped contribute to people there not quitting — that and low, market-driven prices for cigarettes, which in some cases can be purchased for as little as about $1.60 per pack. By the government not getting more involved, in other words, people in China are continuing to smoke as they normally would.

But is this not the essence of human freedom? As disgusting as many people find cigarette smoke, it is the right of human beings to freely utilize the plants that grow on our planet without oppression, and this includes tobacco. When the government gets too involved and starts trying to prohibit the use of such substances like it’s currently doing with tobacco, we end up in “War on Drugs” territory, which much of the world now recognizes as being little more than government tyranny against its own citizens.

Inhaling the smoke from burning tobacco may not be a good thing, but neither is the government constantly telling its citizens what to do — especially when it’s from the barrel of a gun. Like China, the U.S. is grappling with how to handle the tobacco issue, as the damaging effects of its use cost everyone in the form of higher healthcare costs. But at what point do reasonable regulatory interventions breach into the realm of tyranny?

Secondhand smoke endangers pets, raises their risk of cancer /stopsmoking/2017-01-01-secondhand-smoke-endangers-pets-raises-their-risk-of-cancer /stopsmoking/2017-01-01-secondhand-smoke-endangers-pets-raises-their-risk-of-cancer#respond Wed, 30 Nov -0001 00:00:00 +0000 http://162.244.66.231/stopsmoking/2017-01-01-secondhand-smoke-endangers-pets-raises-their-risk-of-cancer Secondhand smoke is hazardous not only for non-smoking children and adults, but for pets as well. A new FDA Consumer Update entitled Secondhand (and Third-Hand) Smoke May Be Making Your Pet Sick details yet more reasons to quit smoking.

A less informed era

If you are middle-aged or older, chances are very good that as you grew up, the health risks of secondhand smoke never entered your mind. Many of us recall that when we were children our parents smoked in our homes and cars without any ventilation. Indeed, the warnings only began to be widely disseminated in the 1990s.

The World Health Organization’s publication Tobacco control in developing countries states:

“… the 1972 report of the Surgeon General (USDHEW 1972) contained only cautious statements about possible health effects of passive smoke, and the 1986 report (USDHHS 1986) was the first to focus on involuntary or passive smoking.”

Let’s clear the air

It may seem counter-intuitive that secondhand smoke poses any significant health risk when one considers that the tobacco smoke inhaled by the smoker directly through the cigarette is much more concentrated than the smoke in the surrounding air. But according to the National Institutes of Health, unpublished studies from the Philip Morris Tobacco Company provide insight as to why secondhand smoke is so dangerous: Sidestream smoke (that which is emitted from the lit end of a cigarette) contains four times as many toxins as mainstream smoke (that which is inhaled and then exhaled by the smoker).

Sidestream smoke burns at a lower temperature than mainstream smoke, and the higher concentration of toxins in sidestream smoke is due to its incomplete combustion. Secondhand smoke is comprised mostly of the more toxic sidestream smoke, and to a lesser extent, the less toxic mainstream smoke. This is key to understanding why secondhand smoke is so bad for you.

But now the message is even more grim.

Quoting from the FDA’s report published on November 30, 2016, the UK’s Daily Mail reports:

“‘Smoking’s not only harmful to people; it’s harmful to pets, too,’ said FDA veterinarian Carmela Stamper. ‘If 58 million non-smoking adults and children are exposed to tobacco smoke, imagine how many pets are exposed at the same time.'”

What’s lingering on your rug, furniture and clothes?

Both secondhand smoke (which lingers in the air your animal breathes in) and third-hand smoke hurt pets. What’s third-hand smoke? It’s residue (harmful compounds that are left behind, such as nicotine) that can get on skin and clothes, as well as on furniture, carpets and other things where a smoker lives.

“Like children, dogs and cats spend a lot of time on or near the floor, where tobacco smoke residue concentrates in house dust, carpets and rugs. Then, it gets on their fur,” Stamper explains. “Dogs, cats and children not only breathe these harmful substances in, but pets can also ingest them by licking their owner’s hair, skin, and clothes.” And of course, if your dog or cat grooms itself or another animal, they’re ingesting the residues as well, Stamper says.

Daily Mail further elucidates on the risks for pets:

Feline risks

Exposure to third-hand smoke brings health problems to cats due to their habit of vigorously licking their fur, which in a smoking environment is laden with carcinogens. This can double a cat’s chance of developing lymphoma, a major cause of death in cats. Those cats living in smoking households have a four-fold increased risk of developing an aggressive oral cancer called squamous cell carcinoma.

Canine risks

Dog breeds with large noses tend to filter toxins from tobacco smoke which protects them from lung cancer, but conversely promotes nasal cancers. Dogs with smaller noses filter less carcinogens there, and thus have a higher risk of lung cancer.

Even your fish are at risk

The inhabitants of your aquarium are also endangered by smoking, as nicotine easily dissolves in water and is a potent poison.

Scotland: Now illegal to smoke in a vehicle if children are present /stopsmoking/2016-12-19-in-scotland-its-now-illegal-to-smoke-in-a-vehicle-if-children-as-present /stopsmoking/2016-12-19-in-scotland-its-now-illegal-to-smoke-in-a-vehicle-if-children-as-present#respond Wed, 30 Nov -0001 00:00:00 +0000 http://162.244.66.231/stopsmoking/2016-12-19-in-scotland-its-now-illegal-to-smoke-in-a-vehicle-if-children-as-present The nanny state is alive and well in Europe, as authoritarian “democracies” continue to enhance and expand the power of government under the assumption that ordinary mortals aren’t capable of making their own decisions.

As reported by Agence France Presse, a new law came into force in Scotland just recently, which bans smoking in automobiles where there are children present – part of the government’s push to raise a “tobacco-free generation.”

The law gives authorities the power to fine violators the equivalent of about $127 or 119 euros, and will be issued on the spot if adults are caught lighting up where kids who are under 18 years of age are present in vehicles.

If a case goes to court, then the fine gets much steeper – about 10 times as much. The measure passed unanimously in the Scottish parliament this month.

The provision was introduced as part of the government’s plans to reduce the number of smokers in the coming generations to below 5 percent by 2034.

“It’s simply not safe to smoke when a child is in the car. Dangerous levels of chemicals can build up, even on short journeys,” Aileen Campbell, the public health minister of Scotland, told AFP.

Smoking is bad, sure, but isn’t big government worse?

Breathing in secondhand tobacco smoke has been linked to respiratory infections, asthma, lung cancer and coronary heart disease, AFP reported, citing data from the World Health Organization.

A number of health charities have welcomed the new law. One, Ash Scotland, says the law is sending a clear signal that children ought to be tobacco-free and thus should grow up in a tobacco-free environment.

“We know from speaking to parents that they want to protect their children from tobacco smoke, but often don’t know enough about how smoke is harmful and lingers in the air even after you can’t see or smell it,” said Sheila Duffy, the group’s chief executive.

Groups that back smokers, however, are decrying the new law. Simon Clark, director of smokers’ group Forest, called the law “patronizing and unnecessary.” He claimed that very few adults even smoke in their vehicles as long as children are in them, because smokers know it is “inconsiderate.” He predicted that there wouldn’t be much enforcement of the new law because so few Scots do it.

England and Wales passed similar legislation in 2015 banning smoking in cars when children are present.

Granted, there are few people who could reasonably argue that it is a good thing to smoke cigarettes in vehicles with children. But, as Clark noted, it’s not a big problem anyway – so what’s the point of writing and passing legislation for it?

What if the goal is to get everyone used to having government decide everything?

But the most alarming thing is that this represents nothing less than additional nanny state government whereby bureaucrats are deciding on behalf of citizens what is and is not “good” for them. Many European nations get away with this because of their universal, taxpayer-supported healthcare systems. Under the guise of “improving health” and “lowering costs,” nanny-crats tend to push for all sorts of rules and regulations limiting personal behavior. When something is determined to be “bad” by whichever agency is designated to self-determine such things, there is never even a choice offered – the activity or product is banned, and anyone who engages in said activity or uses said product is effectively punished.

That’s not democracy and freedom; that’s tyranny.

Today it’s tobacco, but what will it be tomorrow? Free-range chickens? Raw milk? Non-GMO, organically-grown crops? And all under the pretend notion that such things “are not good for you,” as decided by some faceless bureaucrat sitting in some alphabet agency somewhere.

Freedom necessarily empowers the individual, not the state. But in a “state” where the government empowers itself at the expense of the individual, there is no limit to what said government will consider its right to regulate.

Big tobacco company joins ‘e-cig’ industry; plans to stop selling traditional cigarettes /stopsmoking/2016-12-11-big-tobacco-company-joins-e-cig-industry-plans-to-stop-selling-traditional-cigarettes /stopsmoking/2016-12-11-big-tobacco-company-joins-e-cig-industry-plans-to-stop-selling-traditional-cigarettes#respond Wed, 30 Nov -0001 00:00:00 +0000 http://162.244.66.231/stopsmoking/2016-12-11-big-tobacco-company-joins-e-cig-industry-plans-to-stop-selling-traditional-cigarettes Tobacco giant Philip Morris International (PMI) has announced its intentions of gradually phasing out the manufacture and sale of conventional cigarettes and instead focusing on electronic cigarette technology.

The company has just applied to the FDA for approval of its new electronically heated cigarette, called iQOS, which is already being marketed in 12 countries and which has just been introduced to the British market.

The iQOS is different from most e-cigs currently being sold.

From The Daily Caller:

“Unlike a traditional e-cigarette, which vaporizes nicotine fluid, the iQOS heats tobacco leaves to create a smokeless alternative to burning cigarettes. It could potentially eliminate 90 percent of the dangers associated with smoking.”

Philip Morris CEO Andre Calantzopoulos said in a BBC Radio 4 interview that he wants to work with governments in replacing traditional cigarettes with “reduced-risk” tobacco products:

“I believe there will come a moment in time where I would say we have sufficient adoption of these alternative products … to start envisaging, together with governments, a phase-out period for cigarettes. I hope this time will come soon.”

Philip Morris seeks to ‘find and commercialize’ alternatives to traditional cigarettes

Calantzopoulos admits that his company’s products are addictive and harmful – the World Health Organization says smoking kills 6 million people yearly – and that the only appropriate response is to “find and commercialise” products that pose less of a health risk.

Philip Morris claims that its iQOS product is much safer than conventional cigarettes and superior to other types of vaporizers. The iQOS heats tobacco leaves rather than a liquid to create a vapor, as with typical e-cigarette products.

Tobacco companies have experimented with products that heat tobacco rather than burning it, but so far none have truly caught on.

In the 1980s, R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company introduced the Premier, a product which heated tobacco, but it was reportedly cumbersome and had a charcoal aftertaste – it was on the market for only one year.

Reynolds tried again last year to market a heated tobacco cigarette product called Revo, but failed once more in attracting customers.

New technology may boost acceptance of ‘heat-not-burn’ tobacco products

Advances in technology may make the iQOS and other similar products more successful. The iQOS has proved to be popular in the Japanese market, with a reported conversion rate of 70 percent of traditional smokers to the new alternative, compared to a 20 percent conversion rate among smokers who tried standard e-cigs.

The iQOS battery pack resembles a small cell phone and charges a cigarette holder into which the tobacco “sticks” are inserted. Packs of tobacco sticks cost £8 ($10) and the device costs £45 ($57).

Close on the heels of Philip Morris is British American Tobacco (BAT), which is now testing a similar product that it hopes will compete with the iQOS. BAT’s new product, called Glo, will also feature tobacco sticks which are inserted into a heating tube.

Glo will be test-marketed in Japan and will sell for the equivalent of $77 with the tobacco sticks costing about $4.

Other companies are expected to soon follow with their own competing products.

FDA approval of the iQOS device may be affected by the changing of the guard in Washington. The Obama administration was inclined to impose stricter regulations on the tobacco industry, whereas incoming President Donald Trump’s anti-regulatory stance may favor Big Tobacco interests.

Regardless of claims that the new products are safer, many health experts remain concerned about the safety of e-cigs, whether of the traditional liquid vapor or the new heat-not-burn variety.

Chief executive of Action on Smoking and Health (ASH), Deborah Arnott said:

“Philip Morris is a tobacco company. They are still making most of their profits from selling cigarettes. On current trends, smoking will kill one billion people in the 21st century, most in poor countries.

“If Philip Morris really want to see the end of smoking they have to stop promoting smoking to new young smokers around the world.”

Where liberty goes to die: poll shows majority of democrat-run states have a low freedom index /stopsmoking/2016-08-22-where-liberty-goes-to-die-poll-shows-majority-of-democrat-run-states-have-a-low-freedom-index /stopsmoking/2016-08-22-where-liberty-goes-to-die-poll-shows-majority-of-democrat-run-states-have-a-low-freedom-index#respond Wed, 30 Nov -0001 00:00:00 +0000 http://162.244.66.231/stopsmoking/2016-08-22-where-liberty-goes-to-die-poll-shows-majority-of-democrat-run-states-have-a-low-freedom-index A new study created by the CATO Institute ranks all 50 states by how free they are in regards to fiscal, regulatory and personal freedoms.

Due to the sheer amount of statistics given, there is a lot of information to take in from that analysis — so how much can we actually learn from the study? A shocking amount, to be honest.

Unsurprisingly, it is revealed that democrat-run states generally rank lower on the freedom index than their republican-run counterparts. Even though many of these states claim to champion individuality, they clearly don’t care much about their people, as they are oppressing them in virtually every way imaginable. The authoritarian leftists are infringing on the freedoms of their people? Go figure…

According to the study, the five freest states in the country are New Hampshire, Alaska, Oklahoma, Indiana and South Dakota, while ultra-liberal states New York and California are ranked as the 50th and 49th least free states in America, respectively. For years many of us have been pointing out the fact that electing democrats in positions of power will inevitably result in your freedoms being taken away, but now we have the hard data to back up those claims.

Of course, at this point it seems unlikely that the brainwashed sheep of America will do anything to change this. Collectively, the citizens of our country are so set in their ways that they refuse to change anything — especially their voting patterns. But if things don’t change soon, we’re in serious trouble.

How can we help alter the incorrect perceptions people carry? By sharing these statistics and showing them that electing democrats over and over can not just be disastrous for your city, but it also directly effects you at the cost of your freedom.

Oftentimes, politically misinformed people don’t bother searching deeper for the truth. While this can be incredibly frustrating for us truth-seekers out there, it’s important for the betterment of our country that we continue to spread the truth whenever we can. The future of our country genuinely depends on it.

Why a sauna is so helpful for quitting smoking naturally in 14 days or less /stopsmoking/2016-04-25-why-a-sauna-is-so-helpful-for-quitting-smoking-naturally-in-14-days-or-less /stopsmoking/2016-04-25-why-a-sauna-is-so-helpful-for-quitting-smoking-naturally-in-14-days-or-less#respond Wed, 30 Nov -0001 00:00:00 +0000 http://162.244.66.231/stopsmoking/2016-04-25-why-a-sauna-is-so-helpful-for-quitting-smoking-naturally-in-14-days-or-less Sweating is a form of detoxification and there may be no better place than the sauna! There’s not really an excuse for not frequenting a sauna, because they are usually found close to home and/or work: at gyms, YMCAs, country clubs, fitness centers, spas and even homes have them, so they’re not too hard to find. Let’s get right to the research.

Saunas can offer symptom relief for Fibromyalgia, according to the Department of Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine at Japan’s Kagoshima University. Just three days a week 44 women had daily sauna sessions and a little water exercise and they improved their “quality of life” and their fibro symptoms. Saunas support your heart (as opposed to the myth that they stress your heart).

Quebec‘s University of Montreal–Cardiovascular and Prevention Centre found that exercise and sauna provided 24 hours of improvements of symptoms for hypertension.

Plus, a New Zealand study found distance runners who used saunas increased the time until exhaustion time by more than 30%. Why? Plasma and red-cell volumes increased up to 7%. Increased blood volume helped improve performance if you took a sauna after your previous workout.

The University of Vienna in Austria found that 50 people over six months of using saunas were much less likely to get common colds.

Research repeatedly shows sweating in sauna helps detoxify body of toxic agents–nicotine, tar, bleach and ammonia

Ready to sweat out stuff like uric and lactic acid? These acids routinely accumulate in the body and get stored in fat. When you sweat off THAT FAT, the toxins that are stored at deeper levels of your tissues will move up to this fat layer to take its place. Keep sweating! Circulation increases while you’re in the sauna and increased blood flow improves your blood’s oxygenation. Plus, nicotine addiction only lasts 3 days. So after three days of sauna and no cigarettes, you’re NOT addicted to nicotine anymore and you have a HUGE head start on getting rid of the ammonia that Big Tobacco used to freebase that domestic tobacco.

On top of that, you’re sweating out the bleach Big Tobacco used to turn that cigarette paper white, because remember, paper comes from trees and trees are brown. Lastly, you sweat out the tar that’s stuck clogging and blocking the tiny air sacks in your lungs from expanding, so you WILL be able to take deeper breaths without coughing, and you might even be able to laugh hard again without coughing. Imagine that!

Saunas flush out toxins that build up in your fat cells

Your kidneys are detox powerhouses – meaning you could clear out as much as ONE THIRD OF THE TOXIC MATERIAL from your bloodstream during the intense sweating. Studies show saunas remove SULFURIC ACID, SOLVENTS, CHEMICALS, PCBs, PHARMACEUTICALS and HEAVY METAL TOXINS. We can’t tell you how HUGE this is to smokers who want to feel GOOD when they quit, not horrible. True, saunas and detoxifying can make you feel a little nauseous at times, but if you hydrate well with lots of FILTERED, meaning reverse osmosis, water–then you’ll be just fine! On top of all of this, you’ll be giving your immune system a boost. It’s true. You white blood cells that fight infections INCREASE MORE THAN 50%. Now we’re talking healing and staying healed.

Plus your T cells, an important part of your immune system, can increase as much as 2,000 percent. Guess what? The increased sauna temps also help your body secrete endorphins, yes those feel good chemicals in your brain. Just what the “doctor” ordered. These endorphins kill pain too, naturally, so throw out those toxic pain pills the quack MDs prescribed. Should we keep going with the benefits of saunas, or have you heard too many?

Fine, we keep going then. Research shows saunas to be effective in reducing conditions of arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, diabetes, obesity, glaucoma, anorexia, chronic obstructive lung disease and even atherosclerosis. If you’re addicted to other drugs other than cigarettes, junk food and diet soda, the sauna will help you kick those addictions too.

Here’s a short list of the rest of the GREAT RESULTS that come from sauna time:

Stronger heart muscle contractions

Improved function of the cells that line your arteries

Reduced incidence of abnormal heart beats

Lower blood pressure (enlarging of the blood vessels)

Increased fat metabolism, which leads to weight loss

Infrared Saunas are State of the Art for Healing!

Want the same radiant energy the sun produces, even when it’s raining or cold outside or night time? Infrared saunas penetrate and relax the body as increased blood circulation warms your skin! The flood of sweat and toxins is released through skin pores as they open up and sweat it out! This is CELLULAR CLEANSING that increases metabolism and blood circulation and rejuvenates the body. The infrared sauna is different than a steam sauna because it warms the body instead of the surrounding air, which enables people to spend twice as much time in a typical session.

Plus, the infrared sauna penetrates deeper into the skin, as deep as one-and-a-half inches, drawing out MORE TOXINS than the steam sauna, according to Dr. Andrea Adams of the International Institute of Holistic Healing. This deep penetration releases debris from the subcutaneous fat and frees your purges toxins from your organs. The best part of it all? NO SIDE EFFECTS! Compare THAT to medications like Chantix and Zyban. Infrared saunas provide therapeutic cleansing with no side effects and eliminate the toxic medications. The same way a fever is the body’s natural mechanism for releasing bacteria, viruses and toxic organisms, the infrared and steam saunas do the same work for you naturally.

FINAL SAUNA TIPS

Exercise, if even just ten minutes a day.

Don’t overuse the sauna too often or too long.

Check into skin brushing before a sauna to jump start the detox process.

Wait an hour after eating before getting in a sauna.

Drink plenty of non-fluoridated water before, during and after sauna sessions to replenish lost fluids and minerals.

Eat local and organic raw food for the majority of your meals.

The first 3 days are HUGE for smoker detoxification!

You may feel nauseous and lethargic at first, this is normal and it will pass

Quit smoking before you finish reading this news! /stopsmoking/2016-04-22-quit-smoking-before-you-finish-reading-this-news /stopsmoking/2016-04-22-quit-smoking-before-you-finish-reading-this-news#respond Wed, 30 Nov -0001 00:00:00 +0000 http://162.244.66.231/stopsmoking/2016-04-22-quit-smoking-before-you-finish-reading-this-news It’s a mental quit first. Get your mind in gear. Get it ready. Get it wrapped around the notion that you will not ever be a smoker again–then start the process of weeding out chemicals and infusing high grade superfood nutrition. The news is in: Cigarettes contain ammonia, bleach, fiberglass, plastic, insecticides! yes … we know all that. But thanks. We want a legitimate way to quit, and we haven’t found one yet. The pills, ha, they just give you horrific nightmares and more anxiety. You might as well drink a whole bottle of aspartame and eat a handful of MSG. And Allen Carr’s book–you still gotta “psyche” yourself out of smoking. He left out nutritional advice and heavy metal detoxification and mineral supplements and vitamin D and the list just goes on and on.

And so you get ready for all of these things in your MIND, you get them straight in your head, before just “diving into some dark lake full of danger,” instead you go in slow with a plan that you know works, and then you don’t even really HAVE to think about it, you just work the plan. That’s another reason the patch doesn’t work. It’s no kind of plan. You can’t take 100 milligrams of nicotine every 45 minutes (a cigarette) and then go and put some lame patch on your arm that bleeds nicotine out at 3 to 4 milligrams an hour and expect to wean yourself off cigarettes. That’s like being a raging alcoholic who drinks 18 – 24 beers a day (yes, there are plenty of them who do) and then tries to wean himself off it all using some non-alcoholic beer (they still have alcohol in them btw), and trying to psych himself out of the rest of the withdrawals.

That’s never going to work. Never does. They always go back. One beer. One shot of vodka at a party. One dash of whiskey in that cola at the ball game and BAM! Raging alcoholic within days. Same for smokers. You think you quit, but with no plan for rebuilding the body’s immune system, nutrient base, good gut bacteria, and detoxifying heavy metals, within 2 weeks, and sometimes within 6 months, they cave, and stress hits and they smoke just ONE cigarette and BAM!! Within days they’re chain smokers again.

And so once you know how the chemicals in cigarettes actually AFFECT your body, then you REALIZE what you’ve put yourself through, WHY you feel like you do when you need a cigarette, and exactly WHAT you’re going to do about it, and, LAST BUT NOT LEAST, you know that what you are going to do REALLY WORKS.

Now that you’ve got your head wrapped around the first part, let’s get to the second part, which is behavior modification. Here are the TOP 5 behavior modification strategies you should deeply consider right now:

Top 5 behavior modification strategies

(1) Breathing pattern: Smokers take between 9 and 14 drags off one cigarette. If you smoke a pack a day (about 20 cigarettes), that means you are inhaling, holding, and exhaling over 200 times a day in a particular way (two packs a day = 400). Although the smoke contains over 700 toxins, the breathing pattern is relaxing and meditative. When smokers quit, they fail to replace this ritual, which leads to stress and builds anxiety, especially when they feel the urge to smoke. Try pretending you have a cigarette and breathe the same way as often as you smoke. This also aids in digestion.

(2) Change of environment: At least 90% of smokers change their environment every time they have a cigarette. That means leaving an office, restaurant, factory, home or party to step outside. This change of scenery is an escape from the hustle and bustle, or the stress of work. Add to the fresh air a glance at the sun or stars, and you’ve built in some stress relief. Take “fake smoke breaks” after quitting.

(3) Replace nicotine with natural stress relievers and motivators: Hundreds of chemicals in cigarettes disrupt the central nervous system, creating and heightening anxiety, nervousness, doubt and frustration. Nicotine provides just enough kick to make smokers feel normal for 20 to 30 minutes. Ex-smokers must replace and replenish the body’s capacity to produce normal hormones that defeat anxiety and motivate them into action (http://addictions.about.com/od/overcomingaddiction/f/vitamin_B.htm). Specific natural foods, vitamins and supplements boost dopamine and serotonin production, and balance the central nervous system. Vitamin B complex, mucuna, and cabbage are great examples(http://www.serotune.com).

(4) Hand to mouth habit: Multiply a dozen drags of a cigarette by a pack a day, and that’s about 250 hand- to-mouth motions a day, a ritualized behavior that must be replaced by something productive and mood enhancing. Eating raw mixed nuts, sipping a healthy drink, nibbling on dark organic chocolate or chewing licorice replaces cravings and converts a bad habit into a productive one.

(5) Shift your acid heavy system to alkaline: Most smokers have given up on nutrition and exercise. Common food for smokers includes meat, dairy, processed foods, alcohol, sugar, salt, and possibly artificial sweeteners. In order to defeat stress, the body must be more alkaline than acid, which means consuming mostly fresh vegetables, fruit, and spring water. This balances the system and detoxifies it, driving away the urge to smoke(http://www.findaspring.com/).

Carpet glue “speed bumps” make smoking even MORE toxic and LESS safe! /stopsmoking/2016-04-19-carpet-glue-speed-bumps-make-smoking-even-more-toxic-and-less-safe /stopsmoking/2016-04-19-carpet-glue-speed-bumps-make-smoking-even-more-toxic-and-less-safe#respond Wed, 30 Nov -0001 00:00:00 +0000 http://162.244.66.231/stopsmoking/2016-04-19-carpet-glue-speed-bumps-make-smoking-even-more-toxic-and-less-safe Firesafe? Fire safe?? Really? Fire safe cigarettes create even MORE lung damage. The real rationale for the creation of fire safe cigarettes wasn’t so much for consumer protection, but was meant more for the manufacturers’ defense against lawsuits if and when a smoker accidentally burns their house down. Yep.

Prior to the introduction of the fire safe cigarette (FSC), commercially rolled cigarettes (unlike cigars) would burn all the way down to the filter if left unattended. Despite claims that they are safer, however, a fire safe cigarette still burns for over a minute between safety rings, also known as “speed bumps,” and so the number of fires caused by unguarded lit cigarettes has barely been reduced. That’s the bad news. Unfortunately, there is no good news. The other bad news is that the “safety rings” are made of an ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer emulsion based adhesive (carpet glue), which causes severe irritation of mucous membranes and the upper respiratory tract. Symptoms of this damage include a severe burning sensation, laryngitis, shortness of breath, headaches, nausea and vomiting.

In other words, the speed bumps aren’t only useless, they are compounding problems for smokers. Of course, there currently are no regulations (and probably never will be) on ingredients in cigarettes, including ammonia and carpet glue. After all, who really cares if the “safety rings” are made with toxic glue, since everyone is already aware that there are 4,000 chemicals legally mixed into every cancer stick? In other words, what does it matter if cigarette manufacturers mix in a few more lethal chemicals, right? That just makes the grand total 4,010.

FSC really stands for Fail-Safe Corporations

In the 1990’s, the state of Minnesota and Blue Cross and Blue Shield won 6.5 billion dollars in settlements from Big Tobacco, when an insider blew the whistle on Marlboro and Kool for using ammonia to freebase nicotine, making the vapors stronger and more addicting. Adding carpet glue to the mix is just pouring salt in the wound. Many smokers know the risks involved in falling asleep with a lit cigarette, but cigarette manufacturers and corporations needed some added insurance against lawsuits, so they created the fire safe cigarette. But statistics reveal that FSC’s are barely reducing home fires caused by unattended cigarettes. In fact, a retired firefighter and Battalion Chief said 1 in every 3 house fires is still ignited by a cigarette. When a cigarette falls in between couch cushions, or between bed sheets, it doesn’t really matter if the cigarette goes out a minute later.

Thanks to the pesticides, ammonia, bleached paper, and now carpet glue, the lit “cherry” of a cigarette burns at up to 1700 degrees Fahrenheit, so when left resting on cotton or polyester, it can smolder for hours before actually igniting into a flame. Then it can devour an entire house within minutes. “Fire safe” cigarettes are made with 3 layers of paper which requires triple the glues of past cigarettes.

Designed to reduce oxygen flow, the glue often puts the cigarette out too early, causing the smoker to re-ignite several times throughout a cigarette. This is quite ironic, because it essentially adds to the heat and the toxic release, which a typical cigarette filter can’t handle. In turn, it’s forcing the smoker to puff harder and more frequently than they otherwise would, compounding health problems. Smokers of the FSC’s complain of migraine headaches, nausea, burning eyes and a copper metallic taste in their mouth.

In addition, the carpet glue exhale, combined with carbon monoxide, can cause neurological problems for infants. Naphthalene, a core part of the “safe” cigarette, is an insecticide and a bi-product of the coal tar industry and is commonly found in moth balls. Exposure in high amounts can cause irreversible damage to the eyes and the liver, and can result in malaise, confusion, anemia, convulsions, and coma, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. You can identify FSC’s by the letters near the barcode on the pack or by holding the cigarettes up to the light, which makes the two bands visible. New York was the first state to require the fire safe rings, but now nearly every state in the U.S. has jumped on the bandwagon.

How can a smoker escape the MAZE of insanity?

maze help (2)

How do you escape the madness? How do you GET OUT OF THE MAZE? Roll your own cigarettes, preferably with organic tobacco (non-GMO/no pesiticides) and rice or hemp paper, which is not bleached and doesn’t have carpet glue in it.

Or better yet, maybe FSC’s are your blessing in disguise, and will encourage you to check out a smoking cessation program with proven results, such as 14AndOut. Recommended by the Health Ranger himself, (http://premium.naturalnews.tv/14AndOut__TV.htm) 14AndOut teaches smokers how to wean themselves off smoking in 14 days or less, and addresses chemical addiction, behavior modification and nutrition so you never return to cigarettes, nicotine, or carpet glue!

SCAM ALERT? The “Zonnic” Nicotine Gum Scam – the Parent Company of the manufacturer is Reynolds American! /stopsmoking/2016-04-18-scam-alert-the-zonnic-nicotine-gum-scam-the-parent-company-of-the-manufacturer-is-reynolds-american /stopsmoking/2016-04-18-scam-alert-the-zonnic-nicotine-gum-scam-the-parent-company-of-the-manufacturer-is-reynolds-american#respond Wed, 30 Nov -0001 00:00:00 +0000 http://162.244.66.231/stopsmoking/2016-04-18-scam-alert-the-zonnic-nicotine-gum-scam-the-parent-company-of-the-manufacturer-is-reynolds-american Have you tried this new scam, Zonnic nicotine gum? Guess who it’s made by? Yep, Reynolds American Inc is the parent company of Niconovum, who “respects the privacy of adult consumers” – you mean the privacy to stay addicted to cigarettes because the gum doesn’t work? Why would one of the biggest and oldest manufacturers of cancer sticks want to help people stop buying their cigarettes? What a joke. It’s like the devil selling you a plastic halo you can wear on your journey to hell.

“ZONNIC is a nicotine gum that helps you quit one less cigarette at a time. With ZONNIC, quitting doesn’t have to feel like all or nothing. Choose your day to start. Choose your flavor. Then choose the strength that’s right for you. And if you’re not ready to stop smoking completely, you can still start quitting with ZONNIC. When, where and how you quit is up to you.”

You’re supposed to be able, according to the new gum, to eliminate one cigarette at a time as you chew the placebo and psyche out your brain that you don’t need a cigarette, which contains over 100 milligrams of nicotine per “serving.” Wondering why some laim gum with 2 to 4 milligrams of nicotine is a big set up SCAM to make people try to quit and then go back. Reynold’s doesn’t want their smokers trying a cessation method that actually works, so they come up with a company name Niconovum and they market nicotine MAGIC GUM that makes you not need their top-selling product, the ultimate nicotine delivery machine that combines AMMONIA and FORMALDEHYDE with PESTICIDES and HERBICIDE to cause such a horrific cigarette hangover that the victims must have NICOTINE VAPOR at 100 milligrams to recover, temporarily, for about twenty minutes, before they need another cancer stick.

It’s all a cycle planned out, and the gum has ALWAYS and will FOREVER BE a major scam for the hucksters to play out on their smoking “sheeple” who follow the masses and buy nicotine gum at the 7/11 or WaWa and who get the flu shot like the CDC tells them to.

The gum that comes with instructions!

BUILT TO FAIL! – Here’s some Zonnic gum advice for chewing the joke:

“More than 30 minutes after you wake up? Then choose 2mg gum”

“Less than 30 minutes after you wake up? Then choose 4mg gum”

Remember, “Individual results may vary” – meaning for some, they’ll realize right away the gum is a scam, but for others, it may take weeks if not months before they figure it out.

The super sonic zonic gum scam is underway, folks.!

How much is recommended? Per their website: Weeks 1-6: One piece every one to two hours. (Lol). Weeks 7-9? One piece every two to four hours. (Lmao). Be sure not to use more than 24 pieces a day! Or what? Feel like you do after one drag of one cigarette?

Wait, there’s more!!!

“Chew each piece slowly. As soon as it tastes a little peppery or you feel a tingle (that’s just the nicotine), place it between your cheek and gum and give it a rest for a bit. When the peppery taste or tingle goes away, chew it again then rest it again. Repeat until the taste is gone. Remember to always chew slowly. When used as directed, one piece of ZONNIC usually lasts about half an hour.”

Sounds like when MDs said cigarettes were good for digestion and a smooth throat!

It gets better, “If after 12 weeks you feel you need to keep on with ZONNIC a little bit longer, you can.” Yeah, WTF?? So just keep chewing the nicotine sugar forever? No worries mate!

The FDA loves the Zonnic scam.

Get the most out of your waste of money and time.

Buy Zonnic – for that ultimate moron chew!!

Venture inside of a cigarette and examine the “chemical affair” – from the inside out /stopsmoking/2016-04-15-venture-inside-of-a-cigarette-and-examine-the-chemical-affair-from-the-inside-out /stopsmoking/2016-04-15-venture-inside-of-a-cigarette-and-examine-the-chemical-affair-from-the-inside-out#respond Wed, 30 Nov -0001 00:00:00 +0000 http://162.244.66.231/stopsmoking/2016-04-15-venture-inside-of-a-cigarette-and-examine-the-chemical-affair-from-the-inside-out Put on your complete HAZMAT suit and step slowly and carefully … into the mad, mad world of the domestic chemical nightmare known as the commercial cigarette. Just 65 years ago, while American medical doctors were lying through their teeth about cigarettes, saying they were healthy, good for digestion, and recommended them between meals, scientists in labs were figuring out how to make nicotine thirty-five times as potent by using ammonia blended into vapor form. See now that nicotine comes in as a vapor, instead of traveling on tobacco particles and having to dissolve in the lungs, now, the heart and brain feel the JOLT OF NICOTINE in 3 seconds. Bang. Just like that. That’s going on inside the factory, the lab, the manufacturing plant. The scientists figured this all out in the 1960s. That’s why, before that, it wasn’t very difficult to quit cold turkey, because the addiction to nicotine was only to 3 to 4 milligrams, maybe 6 with the blends.

huge cig fire

Venture inside a cigarette to the microscopic glass shards better known as glass wool, inside the filter. Why on earth would chemists and pharmacologists be interested in using this for cigarettes? Are prescription medications nothing more than a mirror for your pain and agony? Is the torture not the same, but with different side effects?

Step inside the cigarette, the domestic, modern, advanced, technologically superior cigarette, which has tobacco leaves that have pesticide WOVEN INTO THEIR DNA – yes the plants actually create pesticide to kill horn worms and other “crop pests” that eat tobacco and its roots, stealing from corporate profits. The tobacco is GMO.

Investigate the inner workings of the cancer stick, the coffin tack! Tiny plastic particles called cellulose acetate are carefully “braded” into the papers to make them BURN hot, hot, hot, keeping that nicotine action strong for the addicts, the guinea pigs, the “heads.”

The Chemical Affair – Starring 45,000,000 Americans

45 million Americans. Forty five million. That’s how many people in the USA smoke. That’s about one in every seven people you see on the street, no matter the age. Half want to quit, and the other half already tried more than once and failed, and have all but given up. None of them know about nutrition. You can’t blame them. There is NO USA education about nutrition anywhere unless you go to a specific college for it. It’s banned in US medical schools now. It’s been banned for 100 years – that’s right – no MD can say that any food or herb or natural tincture can cure ANYTHING EVER or the AMA comes to visit them, and their license is suspended. Period. Any questions?

Deep inside the American cigarette there is a chemical “affair” going on where 600 different ingredients mix and burn to create 6,000 chemicals at 1700 degrees. The glass wool filter cools the smoke and tar and ammonia just enough to let you breathe it in for the fix that lasts maybe twenty minutes, then it fades slowly until … wait for it … the chemical hangover CREEPS IN as the nicotine disappears entirely from the equation. The upper drug is gone and the downer chemicals consume your health, until your cravings for relief are SO BAD that you do the unthinkable. You light a new cigarette. It’s the habit you hate, but the chemicals are married to each other, as they go round and round and round, nicotine, ammonia, nicotine, pesticide, until your cells warp and you get the “c” word, or you quit smoking and get clean.
